Keep your home secure by keeping your garage secure.
Regardless of the kind of security system you have in your home, if your garage isn’t secure, then neither is your home. If your garage has weak security than it makes it all too easy for burglars to break into your home. That’s why, in our last blog, our garage door repair experts in Brighton went over a couple of security tips for your garage. Today, we will be finishing up our list with these last couple of security tips for your garage:
#3. Cover or frost the windows in your garage.
If you leave the windows in your garage uncovered and clear, it will be all too easy for a burglar to peek in, and if they see something that they like, there is always a chance that they will break in. Obstruct their view into your garage by covering up or frosting your windows.
#4. Keep your garage closed!
Although this should go without being said, many people make the mistake of forgetting to close their garage door. An open garage door is an open invitation, so make it a point to always close it, even if you are home!
#5. Lock your garage door.
If you are going out of town for the holidays or even just for a long weekend, you should put a padlock on your garage door’s throw latch. This will prevent burglars from manually opening your garage door and getting into your home.
#6. Make maintenance a priority.
A garage door that isn’t working as it should will be a lot easier to break into than a garage door that is working properly. Keep your garage running strong by making garage door maintenance a priority.
